Local man's sister dies at Rockford
Mrs. Maude I. Adams, 89, of Rockford, O., died at 5 p.m. Friday at the Roselawn Nursing Home at Spencerville, O., where she had been a patient for three years.
She was born in Mercer County, O., July 11, 1882, a daughter of Gilbert and Minerva Grimm-Burkhart [sic], and was married to Luther Adams in October of 1905. Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1968.
Mrs. Adams was a member of the Monroe Friends Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Vilas (Lucille) Bollinger of Rockford; one son, Robert Adams of Lima, O.; one brother, Joseph Burkhart of Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cook of Wapakoneta, O., and Mrs. Almeda Hays of Mendon, O; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. (Ohio time) Monday at the Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home at Rockford, with Rev. Lloyd Roth officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Rockford. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
