The Rev. Virgil M. Lollar of Lela, conducted funeral services yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock for Homer Douglas Pike, 7-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. [sic] Pike of Lela. Services were held at the Lela Baptist church with burial in the Shamrock cemetery in charge of M.M. Nix and CO., funeral home. The baby died Saturday at 12:05 a.m. Little Homer was survived by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

According to the death certificate, the cause of Homer's death was infection due to Spina Bifida.
Homer's paternal grandmother was Frances "Fanny" (Fullingim) Pike.
