William Anthony Bishop was born 4 Jan 1900 in Winfield, Mion County, Alabama the 6th child of William P. and Mary Elizabeth Anthony Bishop. He moved with his family from Alabama to the Golden Communuity in Wood County, Texas where he attended school.

He married Ardenia "Denia" Mae Pitcher on 7 Jan 1917 in Golden, Wood, Texas. They eventually settled in Stephenville, Erath, Texas. He had been a self-employed builder for more than 30 years. In 1987, they moved to a nursing home in Abilene, Taylor, Texas. Bill and Denia had been lifelong members of the Church of Christ. They were blessed with five amazing daughters.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 75 years; 2 daughters, Violet Victoria Hayes and Annie Maxine McDonald; his parents; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Surviving Bill were daughters Billie Maude McMullen (Herman), Mary Katherine Westmoreland (Foy), Naomi Rose Morris (Elbert Lee), 15 grand children, 26 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren, sister Minnie Barnett and brother Clyde.

Bill's funeral service was under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home; Abilene, Texas with A.C. Polk officiating.
