A former well known resident of Rochester, Mrs. Catherine Lyon, 89, widow of Captain William Lyon, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her son, Elmer M. Lyon, 1207 Eleventh street, Beaver Falls.
With her husband, a Civil War veteran, Mrs. Lyon lived at Rochester for 43 years before moving in 1927 to Beaver Falls. Captain Lyon, well known in the lower valley, died just a few years ago. Mrs. Lyon was born in Beaver County and lived here throughout her life.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the home. Burial will take place in Beaver Cemetery. Friends are requested by the family to omit flowers. She leaves another son, Frank W. Lyon, Pittsburgh; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
