Born June 8, 1922, in Fernbank, Ala., to James and Minnie Taggart Sims, he married Eva Quay Mancil on Feb. 1, 1941, in Columbus, Miss. He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy in 1951; five brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are one son, James Franklin (and Carol); and two daughters, Patsy (and Ronald) Wilson and Teresa Seymour.
He was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.
He worked as a paper maker for Bemis Bag Co. He also worked part time at Ben Schwartz IGA and Thompson Foods on University.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
