Born December 13, 1913, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late William Theodore Waddell and Alma (McDonald) Waddell and the wife of the late Alonzo B. Bishop.
She was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church and the Daughters of Ruth Sunday School Class. She was a former pianist for 30 years at Stone Station Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Gault of White Stone, and Rachel Hembree and her husband Joe of Roebuck where Mrs. Bishop made her home for many years; a son, David Bishop and his wife Linda of Roebuck; a sister, Lois Morgan of Spartanburg; five grandsons, Michael Gault, Randy Gault, Tim Gault, Mark Hembree, and Gregg Hembree; a granddaughter, Kristi Harris; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers.
Visitation was 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Tim Williams and the Rev. Ondra Black. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
