Verna Lee enjoyed making clothes for herself and her children. She had worked as a clerk at Kopelman's General Store in East Bank and also at White's Department Store in Montgomery. Her husband and children always came first, and she was a very loving mother whose generosity extended to those in need. Verna Lee was a faithful member of the East Bank United Methodist Church and the East Bank Garden Club. She was known for talents as a seamstress, from making draperies to making the finest details on a homemade doll. She was also very creative at a wide range of crafts.
Verna Lee was greatly loved by her husband of over 50 years, Jack Foster who preceded her in death in 2008; and was also preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are loving children, Steve Foster (Gretchen) of Pinch and Susan Foster-Harper (Gene) of Versailles, KY; grandchildren, Brent Foster (Stephanie) of Charleston and David Foster of Bridgeport; and great-granddaughter, Hailey Foster at home.
Funeral Services were at 1pm Saturday, February 23 at Pryor Funeral Home, East Bank with Pastor Don Dobbins officiating. Burial followed in Montgomery Memorial Park, London.
The family requested that any donations be made to the East Bank United Methodist Church Building Fund, Elm Street, East Bank, WV 25067.
