Joan L. Pallotta, 81, of Central Square, passed away Sunday, February 17, at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. Joan was born on July 28, 1931 in Fulton, NY, daughter of the late Francis and Georgina Butterman Loosen. On July 14, 1956 she married Joseph T. Pallotta in Syracuse. He passed away May 1, 2008. Joan worked as a monitor for the Central Square Schools for nine years and as a bookkeeper with the former Marine Midland Bank for 17 years, retiring 1991. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Tammy (Donald) Fuller and a son, Thomas (Jean) Pallotta all of Hastings, NY; three grandsons, Thomas Pallotta, Brian and Matthew Fuller; two great-grandsons, Parker Fuller and Steven Pallotta; two sisters, Sybil Dellomorte of Cleveland, and Karen Tice of Bonners Ferry, ID; a brother, Norbert Loosen, Fulton, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, John Pallotta (1994); grandson, Steven A. Pallotta (Jan 25, 2012); brothers, Gary, Louis and James Loosen; and sister, Gert Tracy.
The family will receive friends and relatives at St. Michael's Church Parish Center on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. under the direction of the Watson Funeral Home, Central Square, NY. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
