From early childhood Emma enjoyed the outdoors, climbing windmills, trees, and sliding down hills with her sister Tina. She loved her animals too, her dog, her horse and tending and caring for her chickens.
Emma was united in marriage to Edgar Lorraine Veeder on October 28, 1949 in Glendive, MT. She and her sister Tina had a double wedding. They made farming and ranching their livelihood. Emma loved gardening, canning and baking. Her specialties were homemade bread, buns, Juneberry pie and her awesome canned meat. She gave away many jars of her special homemade pickles.
Emma and Lorraine enjoyed many hours of fishing at the Lost Bridge and Bear Den. Coffee and cookies were always on her table for anyone who stopped by.
Her family was first in her life. Grandchildren and great grandchildren were highlights, enjoying whatever sporting events she could. Playing hours of Aggravation, Yahtzee, and cards with her family and friends brought great enjoyment.
Emma's final words of wisdom, spoken on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2013, to her family were, "BE KIND TO EVERYONE".
