Funeral services for Alvie Bahr, 75, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, who died April 20 at the Ellsworth Municipal hospital in Iowa Falls, were held April 23, 1983 at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls, with the Rev. Allen Gunderson officiating.

Alvie Bahr was born on May 20, 1907 in Hubbard, Iowa, the son of Paul and Mary (Smuck) Bahr.
At the age of six he moved with his family to a farm near Buckeye where he attended school and farmed until 1930. He purchased a farm near Alden in 1952, and then moved to a farm near St. Ansgar, Iowa, in 1953. He retired in 1963 and moved to Austin, Minnesota.

He married Thelma Skow on August 21, 1930. Six children were born to them. He married Laura Rush in 1970 and moved to Iowa Falls. He was a member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran church, east of Lyle, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Delmar Bahr, and brother Harold.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; sons: Dallas and Craig; daughters: Mary Bissen of Stacyville, Iowa, Marlene Fox of Carpenter, and Marylyn Hofland of St. Ansgar; and by step children: Larry Rush and Joyce Pingle.

Burial was in the Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls.
