Born in Mt. Wolf, on September 8, 1911, Bessie was the daughter of the late David and Nora (Ditton) Wallace.
She was known for her 'green thumb'. In her neighborhood, the first flowers blooming in spring to the last flowers of fall were in her yard. Bessie often brought back to life neighbors' dying plants as well. She was also the confidant of several neighbors, who were often seen at her kitchen table seeking advice.
Bessie was a member of North Hills Bible Church, York. The celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at her church with her Pastor, David Moss, officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
Mrs. Boyer is survived by three children, Carolyn, wife of David Pertusio of Annville, Donna, wife of Reese Collier of Marietta, and Paul Boyer, husband of Gloria of Haines City, FL; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by sister, Cora Dietz; three brothers, Lloyd, Levi, and Earl Wallace; and one granddaughter, Kathryn Hedgepeth.
