Mrs. Ruth L. Pierce, 91, died Monday, April 14, 2003.

Born September 18, 1911, in Yalobusha County, Mrs. Pierce was a daughter of the late Jim and Jennie Traywick Littleton. A homemaker, she was the wife of the late D.E. "Dudie" Pierce, who died February 1, 1981. Mrs. Pierce was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pierce were held at eleven o'clock in the morning Thursday, April 17, 2003, in the Chapel of seven Oaks funeral Home, Inc. in water Valley, with Jack Nazary and Richard Pierce Officating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, with Al Pierce, Bill Pearce, Billy Neal, Jimmy Pierce, John L. True and Carrol Rhodes as pallbearers.

Survivors include; a daughter, Patsy Pierce of Southaven; four sons, D.E. Pierce, Jr. and Roy Pierce, both of Southaven, Henry Pierce of Senatobia and Albert Pierce of Haleyville, Alabama; and one sister, Dorothy True of Water Valley.
