"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith..." 2 Timothy 4:6-7. Homegoing celebration for Bro. Tom Ciani - in our sanutuary today at 2:00- He will lie-in-state from 1:00-2:00. In memory of Tom Ciani. Moved from New York to Covington, Georgia- Newton County. Funeral Services held in the church where he was a member. February 3, 2013. Sunday-2:00 PM. The Baptist Tabernacle, 10119 Access Road, Covington, Georgia. Officiating: Dr. David Moody and Dr. Hudson R. Moody. He loved his family. Cause of death: Massive heart attack. He died in St. Joseph Hospital. February 3rd. 2013 - From the Pastor- Today is a day filled with mixed emotions because this week, a soldier went home to be with the Lord. On Monday, Bro. Tom Ciani, our dear brother, stepped into that Celestial City! Our hearts are heavy because we will miss him, but praise the Lord, we "sorrow not, even as others which have no hope," for we know that Bro. Tom is with his Savior in Glory! "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord" (II Corinthians 5:8). I'm gald we can "comfort one another with these words.(I Thessalonians 4). Bro. Tom had a heart for our Bus Ministry and the children in our community. Every Saturday, he would visit his bus route and take some of our teenage boys with him, hoping that God would put in their hearts what He had put in his. Nearly every week, he would buy pizza or ice cream for the kids, and they grew to love Bro. Tom just as he loved them. We can still hear him, in that strong New York accent, sharing his sweet testimony of how the Lord saved him in the JFK Airport. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him, but he is rejoicing even now in Heaven. Psalm 116:15 tells us that "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Bro. Tom was a friend and an inspiration to us all. We will miss him but look forward to seeing him again in God's New Heaven. Please keep his family in your prayers. I love you, dear Church. Pastor David.
