From Cannelton. John Harris died here the previous Thursday in his 58th year of life. He was born 10 Jan 1847 in the vicinity of Hawesville. Later the family moved to Indiana, where the deceased married Miss Olive Sheldon in 1871, and ran a farm in Tobin and Troy Township. He lived here with his family for years and was one of our best citizens. He leaves his wife and 5 grown children. His remains were taken to Tobin Township and buried in Turner Chapel there to ther final rest. May the earth be easy on the departed.
