Agnes L. DeLay, 78, of Taylorville died at 3:05 am Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in Golden Manor Nursing Home in Nokomis.
She was born November 25, 1922, in Harrisburg, the daughter of John and Mary McDole Seward. She married Hobert DeLay on October 16, 1937, in St. Charles, MO. He died January 26, 1971. She was employed by Bert Hopper for 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a member of Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.
Surviving are three sons: Lee Roy DeLay of Taylorville, David DeLay of Florida and Francis DeLay of Rochester; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sara Smith of Taylorville and Patricia Oger of Fremont, CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, John Seward; and two sisters, Mary Sullivan Jones and Catherine Lanzotti.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 16, in Connolly-McClure Funeral Home, with Father John O'Connell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
