Pilot Mountain – Mr. Robert Moore, Sr., 83, of Route 4 King, the Chestnut Grove Community, passed away Friday morning in the Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem. Mr. Moore was born in Stokes County, the son of James and Laura McKnight Moore. He was a retired farmer and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Adkins Moore; one daughter, Mrs. Mozelle Hampton of Germanton; two sons, Marvin R. Moore of Route 4, King and Robert Moore Jr of Winston-Salem; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; one brother, James Moore of Tobaccoville; three half sisters, Mrs. Everett Shouse of Rural Hall, Mrs. Robert Crews of King and Mrs. Ella M. Myers of Winston-Salem and three half brothers, Wilkes and H.O. Moore both of King and Jack Moore of Clemmons. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 pm at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church by the Rev. Winburn Davis and the Rev. Corbert Gordon with the burial following in the church cemetery. The body is at the Needham Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
