Lucille Cooper

Lucille Cooper, 74, died Saturday afternoon at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Cooper was a native of St. Joseph and formerly farmed in the Guilford area. She had made her home here in St. Joseph since 1954, and was a saleslady for Townsend and Wall for 20 years, retiring in 1974.

She was a member of the Ashland United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Surviving are her husband, Ellis T. Cooper, Sr., of the home, three sons, Ellis T. Cooper, Jr., St. Joseph, Wayne R. Cooper, Amarillo, Texas, and L. Max Cooper, Greenwood, Ind.; a daughter, Leona Capehart, St. Joseph; a brother, Kenneth R. Parrish, St. Joseph; a sister, Evelyn Rhoades, Kansas City, Mo.; 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Melerhoffer-Fleeman Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 8 at the funeral home.
