Nicholas Fey.
Nicholas Fey, more familiarly known to hundreds of Duquesne people as “Sandy,” died at the family residence on Erwin street last Sunday night. His demise was caused by bladder trouble from which he had been a sufferer for the past eight months. His last appearnace on the streets was on New Year’s day. Deceased was aged 54 years and he had been a resident of Duquesne for the past seventeen years. Mr. Fey was a brother of John Fey, of West Grant avenue, Peter Fey of Homestead, and Casper Fey of Boston, Pa. Mrs. Barbara Kroeger of North First street and Mrs. Henry Ruhe of West Grant avenue, are sisters. Deceased was a member of the Moose and the German Beneficial association. Among the survivors are his wife and the following children: John, William, Henry, Charles, Mrs. Peter Morgan of Duquesne, Mrs. Richard Trainor and Mrs. John Ryan of Blythedale, Sylvester and Albert, at home.
The funeral services were conducted on Wednesday morning from the Holy Name Catholic church, Rev. Father Shanahan, officiating. Burial was made in Holy Name cemetery. (Duquesne Times, Friday, Aug 11, 1916, p 8)
