Mitchell Cornett, 74, of West Alexandria, died Friday evening March 18, following a sudden illness. He retired from Frigidaire Corp. after 29 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Edna Baldridge Cornett; two daughters, Linda Wise and Peggy Cornett, both of West Alexandria; three sons, Denver of Dayton, LaVerne and Micky, both of West Alexandria; two grandsons. Also surviving are four brothers, Luther of New Lebanon, Ray of Tampa, Fla., Vernon of Baltimore, Md., and James of Hamilton; and seven sisters, Sara Sebastian of Jackson, Ky., Reta Tracy of Cincinnati, Frankie Watts of Middletown, Alta Deaton of Miamisburg, Alice Routt of Newport, Ky., Dororthy Combs of Boonesville, Ky., and Mary Ella Routt of Cincinatti. Funeral services were Monday, March 21, at Rogers and Holp Funeral Home, New Lebanon, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.
