  Funeral services for Leslie Samuel Baird, 67, who died at his home Wednesday after a burial illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Lesley Marks funeral home. The Rev. John P. Emig, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will be in charge and burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
  A retired airbrake repairman for the old L&M railroad, the deceased had been in their employ for 35 years. A lifelong resident of Edwardsville and community, he was born Nov. 1, 1891 in Pin Oak township, the son of the late Samuel T. and Nancy Barnett Baird. He was married to Miss Myrtle DeMott of St. Louis in June of 1920. Mrs. Baird preceded him in death in January of 1956.
  Surviving is a son, Everett T. Baird, and two brothers, William R. and Ralph R. Baird, all of Edwardsville; and one grandchild. A sister, Emma, and two brothers, John and Roy, preceded him in death.
  A veteran of World War I, the deceased was a member of VFW Post 1299 and was affiliated with the First Presbyterian church.
  Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Friday.

Pallbearers were Kenneth and Robert Moore, Walter Schlemer and Sam Marfia.
