Pearl Mae Harr, 82, of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at her home.
Born May 17, 1930, in Shenandoah, Va., she was the daughter of the late William R. and Sudie A. Waters Alger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Harr, on April 20, 1996.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter 3.
Pearl is survived by
a daughter,
Elizabeth Baker and husband, Howard "Fuzzy" Tosten, of Hagerstown;
a stepdaughter,
Mary Detrow of Hagerstown;
a granddaughter,
Malesa Lewis and husband, Daniel, of Boonsboro;
great-grandsons,
David Lewis and
Justin Lewis, both of Boonsboro;
two brothers,
William R. "Junior" Alger and wife, Rosa, and
Cecil G. Alger and wife, Shelby, both of Stanley, Va.;
three nephews,
Randy Alger,
Kevin Alger and
Leroy Alger, all of Virginia.
She is also survived by faithful companion, Clyde B. Snyder of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by
a daughter, Alta Marie Harr;
a sister, Ester Buracker; and
stepfather, Carroll Knickman.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
