Funeral services for Mrs. T. C. Cass, who died in Collingsworth General Hospital at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, were conducted at First Baptist Church Thursday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m.
Following the service here her body was taken to San Diego, California for burial in Cypress View Cemetery.
The former Maggie Mae Haralson, Mrs. Cass was born in Montague County February 27, 1891, the daughter of the late Julius and Nonnie Haralson. She came to Collingsworth County with her family about 70 years ago.
She was married to Mr. Cass April 13, 1908, in Harmon County, OK and they farmed for many years in the Lillie Community. Mrs. Cass was one of the last surviving charter members of the Lillie Baptist Church, which disbanded only a few weeks ago.
In the early 1940s Mr. and Mrs. Cass moved to San Diego, CA. Following his death in 1969, she returned to Wellington and was living in Thomas Nursing Center.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Emmert and Mrs. Ione Jones of Wellington; three sons, Kenneth Cass of Friona, Troy Cass and Roy Cass of San Diego; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
