A Gathering of Remembrance for Mackey Ray South of Corinth was held Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at Rowland Mills Baptist Church in Burnsville, MS with Bro. Warren Jones officiating.

Mr. South died on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born on Jan. 3, 1941 in Iuka to the late Estes and Audie Belue South. He worked for Little's Construction, loved to fish, ride 4-wheelers, enjoyed spending time outdoors, and above all he loved to spoil his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arneta; three brothers, Wallace, Ted, and Bobby South; one sister, Meb Walker; and two infant siblings.

He is survived by three sons, Mackey Dwayne South of Jackson, TN, Terry Scott and wife, Kristy, of Corinth, and Robert Sherial Scott and wife Barbara of Blue Mountain; two daughters, Kim King and husband Ricky of Corinth and Angela Morgan and husband Jerry of Rienzi; three brothers, Charles South and wife Barbara of Rienzi, Truman South and wife Betty of Burnsville, and Noel "Red" South and wife Janice of Iuka; one sister, Earnistine Trimble of Burnsville; seven grandchildren, Bradley, Malory, Justin, Ausin, Matthew, Tara, and Megan; three great-grandchildren, Jada, Chandler, and Haley; one brother-in-law, Garvin Walker; one sister-in-law, Faye South; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Memorial Funeral Home in Corinth was in charge of the arrangements.
