NORTH RIDGEVILLE -- Barbara Jean Hill (nee Dudash), 71, of North Ridgeville and formerly of South Amherst, died Saturday, Nov.17, 2007, at Center Ridge Health Care Center in North Ridgeville following a three-year illness. She was born March 28, 1935, in Amherst and lived the majority of her life in South Amherst. North Ridgeville has been her home for the last three years.

Ms. Hill was employed at Timm Springs in Elyria for more than 30 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in South Amherst. She was a 4-H adviser for the South Amherst Quarriets for 20 years. Her hobbies included crafts, tole painting and attending her grandchildren's sporting events.

Survivors include her daughters Deborah Newark of Elyria and Denise Barnes of Amherst; five grandsons and four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Darlene Zelina of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Willard A. Hill, in 1989; and by her parents Andrew Dudash Jr., in 1961, and Mildred (nee Heighland), in 1980.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. N. James Greenawalt, of Amherst, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to CHP Regional Foundation/New Life Hospice; 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053.
