Died Thursday, Aug. 7, 1981, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 72, a native of Columbia and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired carpenter with Local 1098. Visiting at Hollabaugh-Spindle-Wooddale Memorial Chapel from 4:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday. Religious services at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral Home, the Rev. Baxter Humphries officiating. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park.

Survived by his wife, Mrs. Obie M. Watson, Baton Rouge; a son, Lester L. Watson, Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mrs. Fleda Fitzgerald, Clarks, Mrs. Lena Stamper, Columbia, Mrs. Lela West, Grayson, a brother, Jack Watson, Grayson; four grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Watson; two brothers, Robert and Grover Watson; a sister, Maude Simmons.

He was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church, Ol[l]a.
