Yesterday afternoon the news came into Brookfield of the death of Henry Abrams, whose illness has been previously mentioned in our columns. Mr. Abrams has been a sufferer from a cancerous trouble since late summer. He went to a hospital in Utica about six weeks ago for treatment, returning to the home of his sister, Mrs. Ralph Keith, about two weeks ago. Monday of this week he was taken to Faxton hospital for an operation but the trouble was beyond help and he passed away the following day, Tuesday, Jan. 30. The remains were brought to the home of Ralph Keith last evening and taken to the home of Daniel Crumb today. The funeral will be held at the Baptist church here Friday at 1 o'clock, Rev. E. J. Griswold officiating. Burial will be made in the cemetery in this place.

Henry Abrams was born in the province of Quebec, Canada, December 9, 1871, and came to Brookfield with the family in 1883. He was the son of Nicholas and Mary Ann Abrams and the first of the family of six children to pass into the world beyond. The surviving members of the family are: William Abrams, Columbus; Mrs. Ralph Keith, North Brookfield; Mrs. Daniel Crumb, Brookfield; Mrs. Emmet Perkins, Brookfield, and Mrs. Harley Clarke, Leonardsville.

He will be missed by many in this village, where he has lived alone much of the time. He was quiet and retiring in disposition but most generous and helpful in all times when assistance was needed.
