Jack Tendoy was born on the Boise River, the son of Chief Tendoy and his wife Cora; he had the following siblings: Yoohoo, Hoorah, Yope, Peahwipe, Wince, and one sibling who died in infancy.

He had the following half-siblings: (mother Sarah):George (Tedim), Toopompey (John), Poinie and Toonea (both died young) and a sibling who died in infancy; (mother Laura): Roy, Birdie, and 2 siblings who died in infancy.

He was the favorite son of Chief Tendoy and would have succeeded him as chief, if he had lived. He was accidently killed between 1895-97. His body was disinterred, as well as that of a favorite grandson, and both were buried with Chief Tendoy when he died in 1907.
