John Benton Dutro, 70, died this morning at the family home, 1443 Lafayette avenue, following a stroke of paralysis suffered Saturday. He had been in failing health for some time preceding the stroke.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hege & Flanigan funeral parlors, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Wylie, pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Daughtery cemetery at Walesboro.
Native of Wayne Township, Mr. Dutro was a member of the Methodist church. He had spent his life in Wayne township until in 1918, when he and his family moved to this city. For many years he was employed at the Barnaby flower houses, but had not been able to work for some time preceding his death.
Surviving relatives include four sons, William, Raymond, Carl and Forrest, all of this city; seven daughters, Miss Gertrude Dutro, at home; Mrs. Flossie Taylor, Walesboro; Mrs. Hazel Herron, this city; Mrs. Mabel Dale; Mrs. Edith Hensley; Mrs. Lulu Compton, and Mrs. Martha Sticken. all of Indianapolis. Three sisters, Mrs. Jane McKee, Waynesville, and Mrs. Maude Snead and Mrs. Bertha Harris, of this city, and 19 grandchildren, also survive.
