Mrs. Minnie Pohl
Unknown Paper and Date

Mrs. Minnie Pohl, widow of Christian Pohl, died at the home
of her son, Herman Pohl, Monday evening, November 2, aged 87
years, 3 months and 5 days. Father and Mother Pohl came to
America from Pomerene, Germany, in 1884, making the Worden
neighborhood their first and only home in this country.

Mother Pohl was converted at the Worden church under the
preaching of R ... Schmidli in 1885 and for more than forty
years has been a very true follower of the Christ in faith
and action. For the last six years she was unable to attend
public gatherings or the worship of her church, but was
always intensely interested concerning its progress.

Since the death of Father Pohl, she made her home with her
son, Herman, four and a half miles southeast of Worden. She
died very suddenly and unexpectedly, for, although weakened
by her advanced age, she was in fine spirits for some time.
She leaves to mourn her loss one son and one daughter,
Herman Pohl of Worden and Mrs. Minnie Sturm of Clearfield,
Kansas. One daughter died in infancy in Germany. She also
leaves ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, all
in Douglas and Franklin Counties.

Funeral was held at the Worden church Wednesday afternoon
with her pastor, C.F. Weidensaul, in charge and interment
made in the Worden Cemetery. Six grandsons were
pallbearers.
