George Raquet, 74, of 1532 Sibley court, died early today at St Nicholas hospital. A native of the town of Schleswig, Manitowoc county.
Mr. Raquet was born March 25, 1875, at the farm home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Franz Raquet. He attended school at Rockville, learned the blacksmith trade at Kiel and operated his own blacksmith shop at Spring Corners near Ada for 20 years. For the past four years he had been employed at the Wehrmann Hardware company here. On October 14, 1899, Mr. Raquet was married to Miss Emma Reichert at Kiel, and the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Mr. Raquet was a member of the Ebenezer Evangelical and Reformed church.
Survivors are the widow; one son, Harvey, of Sheboygan; two grandchildren; two brothers, David and John, of Kiel; a sister, Mrs. Herman Roethel, of Kiel. Four brothers and five sifters preceded Mr. Raquet in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Ebenezer Evangelical and Reformed church at 2 p. m. Thursday, the Rev. E. C. Jaberg officiating and burial will be in the family lot at Wildwood cemetery.
