A scrivener by trade, he married at St Simon and St Jude's Church in Norwich on September 30, 1605 to Susanna Camden, daughter of Humphrey Camden, who married at Honington in Suffolk on Sept. 13, 1581 to Cicely Pettus, daughter of Thomas Pettus, esquire, mayor of Norwich, by his wife Christian Dethick.

In the Norfolk Visitations the Arms of Henry Pendleton were described as 'Gules, an inescutcheon argent between four escallops in saltire or', and his Crest as 'On a chapeau gules turned up ermine, a demi-dragon rampant or, holding in the claws an escallop argent'. His wife Susan's Arms were described as those of William Camden, Clarenceux King of Arms, with a crescent in chief.

His father-in-law Humphrey Camden [younger brother of the antiquarian William Camden (1551-1623)] was the second son of Samson Camden, a native of Lichfield in Staffordshire, by his wife Elizabeth Curwen, daughter of Giles Curwen, who held de jure uxoris a moiety of Poulton-le-Sands in Lancashire, by his wife Agnes Berbron Bellingham. Agnes, daughter and heiress of John Berbron of Poulton-le-Sands, had been betrothed in her youth to Richard Bellingham who died in his youth sine prole. Giles Curwen was a younger son of Thomas Curwen (c.1469-1522), esquire, of Workington in Cumbria, by his wife Anne Huddleston, daughter of Sir John Huddleston (c.1425-1494), of Millom in Cumbria, by his wife Lady Mary Fenwick. Mary Fenwick Huddleston was the third daughter and co-heiress of Sir Henry Fenwick (1401-1459), constable of Cockermouth Castle in Cumbria, by his wife Lady Joan Leigh.
