Ova Marie Conley, 90, of Nevada died on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at Story County Medical Center.
Private services will be held at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Burial will follow in the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.
Ova was born on June 27, 1917 in Chunute, Tennessee to Will Ed and Mary Zelma (Allen) Beaty. On July 17, 1948, she married James Victor Conley in Rossville, Georgia. Ova was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada. Ova loved being with her family, gardening and reading.
Ova is survived by 2 sons, James A. Conley and Steven V. Conley; a daughter, Farris (Don) Dearborn, all of Nevada; 2 brothers, Eugene Beaty of Albany, KY and Thomas Beaty of Muncie, IN; a sister Maxine Beaty of Daleville, IN; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.
Ova was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James on March 1, 1987, a son Eddie Reid Conley on February 9, 2000, 4 brothers, and 4 sisters.
A memorial fund has been established in Ova's name for the Nevada Public Library. Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services has been entrusted with Ova and her family.
