Taylor, Lawrence Joseph "Larry". On January 13th, 2013, Larry Taylor was called up to heaven after a fierce battle against prostate cancer. Larry was born on December 28, 1934, in Rapid City, South Dakota where he was raised, attended high school and met his beloved wife, Cecilia. After high school, Larry attended the South Dakota School of Mines, but he was drafted into the Army, where he served for three years. He then attended the University of Virginia and graduated from Denver University in 1960. Larry is survived by his wife, Cecilia; his sister, Leota; his brother, John; his cousin, Patty; his children, Cheryl and Scott; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, whom he adored. Larry was a devoted and loving husband, an amazing father and grandfather, and a gifted artist with a quick wit and keen sense of humor. But most of all he was a true friend to all and the most kind and compassionate man who loved his family and his God. Our loss is heaven's gain. Memorial Mass will be Friday, January 25th at 10:00 am at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach.
