He was born Dec. 23, 1894, in Almo, Idaho, a son of Robert and Lucy Knight Eames.
On Aug. 21, 1918, he married Winifred Lowder in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died April 23, 1967. On Oct. 3, 1967, he married Ethelyn Nelson.
He was a member of the Ogden 26th LDS Ward and was a high priest. He had served as a ward clerk in the Ogden 13th Ward and as a high priest group leader in the Ogden 13th and 17th wards and the 26th ward in Mesa, Ariz. He served in the MIA Presidency of the Ogden 13th Ward and had been a home teacher for many years.
He had worked for the Postal Service in Ogden and had been a superintendent at the Hill Air Force Base Post Office for 39 years, retiring in 1957. He was a member of the Postal Workers Union of Ogden.
He was reared and educated in Almo, Idaho, and Harrisville, Utah.
Surviving are his widow of Ogden; three daughters, Erma Young, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mildred Wilson, Ogden; Mrs. Herbert (Betty) Brown, Columbia, Mo.; five step-sons and one stepdaughter, Kayle James Shaw, Bountiful; Darwin George Shaw, Sunset; Donald Lamar Shaw, Ogden; Gordon Elmer Shaw, Meridian, Idaho; Gerald Sheldon Shaw, Medical Lake, Wash.; Mrs. Dale (Darlene) Mikesell, Hooper; 11 grandchildren, 16 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Al (Opal) Blackburn of Porterville, Calif., and Mrs. Elizabeth King, of Raymond, Alberta, Canada.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary with Bishop R. LaMar Ercanbrack of the 71st Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday one hours prior to services. Interment in the Aultorest Memorial Park.
