Batesburg - Samuel T. (Sammy) Shealy, 76, retired farmer of Lexington County, died in Columbia Hospital Friday after two weeks serious illness. He was born in Lexington County, son of the late George R. and Rodella Lybrand Shealy and was a life-long member of Cedar Grove Lutheran Church. He and his widow had just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary Friday. Surviving are his widow, the former Sudie (Sue) Derrick Shealy of Leesville; three sons, Fred of Lexington, Arthur Ray of Leesville and Grady Shealy of Asheville, N.C.; four daughters, Mrs. Grady Revis and Mrs. Clarence Moore of Greenville, Mrs. Olin Attaway of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Harold Shealy of Leesville; one brother, George A. Shealy of Leesville, and one sister, Mrs. Lessie Caughman of Lexington. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church. The body is at Attaway and Sons Funeral Home in Batesburg. Active pallbearers will be six grandsons, S. J. Shealy, Paul Shealy, Jerome Shealy, Keifer Shealy, Sloan Shealy and Thomas Attaway. © The State, Columbia, SC, 13 Jun 1965
