Mrs. Gentry was born October 18, 1947, in Martinsburg, Missouri, a daughter of Leslie Sylvester and Maudlene Elizabeth Stuart Smith.
On January 4, 1964, in Mexico, Missouri, she married Billy Joe Gentry, Sr., sharing over 49 years together.
Frances was a custodian for over 18 years in the Montgomery County Elementary, Montgomery County High School, New Florence Elementary and Jonesburg Elementary Schools. Frances enjoyed her job because she loved each and every child that she interacted with. Putting in extra hours at work many days, the kids around the school system grew to know her very well and would see her outside of work and always come talk to "Mrs. Frances."
She was a very active member of the Montgomery County Relay for Life Team, "Tailgaters," always ready to find a cure for cancer. Frances enjoyed her time as a member with the Hermann Rough Riders Saddle Club, where she was able to travel to Arkansas, Colorado and Wyoming, taking her horse and going on trail rides up in the mountains. She was also a member of the Montgomery County Saddle Club.
Frances was very fond of horses, especially her horse "Shamrock," enjoying all the time she got to ride him. She also liked sewing. Her time with her grandchildren was special and she loved spending time with them and watching them grow up.
Survivors omitted.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Montgomery County Relay for Life Team, "Tailgaters" or Helen Reagan Cancer Fund c/o Myers Funeral Home, 203 East Bates Street, Wellsville, Missouri 63384.
