Henry Gabel, a highly respected citizen of Elk Grove, died October 11, aged 76 years. Mr. Gabel was born in Germany in 1838, and came to this country when young, settling in Southwestern Wisconsin, where he has since made his home.
In 1862 he was united in marriage at St. Peter's church to Miss Victoria Sigenfuse, who preceded him to the grave eleven years ago.
A family of fourteen children were born to them, eight sons and six daughters, twelve of whom survive, namely, Mrs. T.B. Huggins of Belmont, Mrs. Edward Parker of Elk Grove, Clara, Sappha, John, Chris, Henry, Edward, William, Louis, George and Charles.
The funeral was held Wednesday. Interment at St. Peters cemetery by the side of his wife who died in 1903.
