They generally put the family's arrival about the 1740 time frame. Source 2 includes the story that a sister - Janet/Jane/Jenette/Jennett - had previously married a Rev. Thom(p)son and followed the family to America a year or two after the others. These sources generally report that the family originally situated in the Londonderry, NH, area and the father and one son stayed there while the three others sons moved on to what is now Cumberland County, PA. One reports that there was a Holmes (a cousin or nephew) already living there.

Andrew married Jane Graham, 30 Oct 1760. They had 9 known children.
In 1762 he became the owner of 150 acres of land.
Commanded a company of rangers during the Revolutionary War. He served as private in Capt. William Moore's Cumberland County, Pennsylvania militia.
