Margaret's husband:
John Popham Thomson
b. 08 Jul 1776, New Castle Co., DE
d. 01 Mar 1855, Frederick, Frederick, MD
m. 25 Nov 1802, Carlisle, Cumberland, Pennsylvania, USA

She died at the age of 27 with two children.

From the Frederick-Town Herald of May 15, 1809:
"Departed this life on Sunday morning the 7th inst. in the 27th year of her age Mrs. MARGARET THOMSON, wife of Mr. John P. Thomson, editor of the Frederick-town Herald.
Her illness had been lingering and acute, and it was sustained with all the fortitude of christian resignation. Her impression was strong, from the commencement of this illness, that it would prove to be her last; but the evangelical hope never forsook her mind of a blissful resurrection in the world to come. Soothed and supported by that hope, in all her sufferings there was scarcely a complaint, in her last moments there was no terror; she spoke of her approaching dissolution with the calmness of content, and even directed concerning her household with the same composure as if only preparing to sojourn for a season instead of the last sad and irrevocable doom. Before she had well attained the noontime of life, the darkness of death has thus closed in upon her: but faith shall illumine the night of the grave, and the mansions of peace above receive an humble and righteous follower of the law of kindness.
The inhabitants of this town, where Mrs. Thomson came but a few years since a stranger among us, have testified to the merits of the deceased by the respect and sympathy with which the funeral rites have been attended. But what shall assuage the anguish of a husband's affliction, so untimely bereft of the fond partner of his bosom, whose every wish was congenial to his own in all the happy concord of domestic union! And what can repair the loss to three infant pledges of affection thus deprived of the tenderness and care of a mother's love! Her family, relatives and friends must find their only consolation in the assurance that she is blessed for ever; while those generally who were acquainted with her worth, in the meekness and purity of its nature may find an example to prepare themselves for that awful change which awaits all the sons and daughters of men!"
