The burial of Harry J Ramsey at Hinds memorial was confirmed by his son Donald L Ramsey and daughter-in-law Katherine “Betty” Ramsey in conversations in August, 1999. Both had attended his funeral in Memphis and the burial at Hinds Chapel Cemetery across the bridge in Mississippi.

According to his son Don, Harry had been living in Thomasville, Georgia and had gone to the Veteran’s Hospital across State line in Florida where in passed away. The family brought his remains back to Memphis for his funeral and burial.

The military marker ordered for Harry J Ramsey on May 12, 1959 by his sister Hilda Ramsey Foggo states burial had been at Hinds Chapel, the marker was apparently never placed to mark his burial location. (Record available on Ancestry)

The cemetery does not have records of Harry’s burial but the employee also stated that ownership had changed several times and some older records were either not noted, mis-filed or are missing.
