Claire (Bill) Brooks, 81, Campbellsville, son of the late Frank Brooks and Grave Hubbard Brooks, born in Mason City, Ill., Aug. 31, 1909, died at 7:45 a.m., Monday, Dec. 24, 1990, in Elizabethtown after an illness. He was a member of the Soule Chapel United Methodist Church and retired from B&W Construction Company in Chicago as a carpenter. He was married to Marilyn Young on Aug. 29, 1965. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles T. Brooks, Deer Park, Texas, and William Brooks, Oak Lawn, Ill.; three granddaughters and three grandsons, Christina Brooks and Claire Brooks, both of Tinley Park, Ill., Susan Lanenga, Chicago, K. C. Brooks, Cindy Brooks, and Billy Brooks, all of Deer Park; one great-granddaughter, Claire Elizabeth Brooks, Deer Park; two sisters and one brother, Mary Louise Furrer, Springfield, Ill., Mildred Morrow, Winter Haven, Fla., Bob Brooks, Normal, Ill.; and several other relatives and many friends. The funeral was at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville with the Rev. James E. Knifley, the Rev. Betty Parsons, and Ron Rafferty officiating. Burial was in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
