Edmond was the son of William Braby. He married Amelia Bartley in 1879 in Canada. They were the parents of Lawrence, Ada, Eva, Maude, Eliza, William, George, and Lloyd.
Jan 31, 1929 - Humboldt Independent - Edmond Braby was born in Harrington, Ontario, Oxford county, Canada, Feb. 8, 1856. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Braby and passed away at his home in Rutland Friday, Jan, 25 at the age of 73 years, 11 months, and 14 days.
In 1879 he was united in marriage to Miss Amelia Frances Bartley. To this union eight children were born, all of whom survive. Mr. and Mrs. Braby came to Iowa in 1891 and have lived in Humboldt county since that time. Mr. Braby was preceded in death by his father and mother, three sisters and five brothers.
He is survived by his wife and eight children. The children are William, Mrs. Maude McDonald, Mrs Eliza DeGroote of Rutland, George of Dakota City, Lloyd of Sheridan, Minn, Lawrence of Riceville, Mrs. Ada Nielson of Humboldt, and Mrs. Eva Hawk of Des Moines. He is also survived by one brother, B.T. Braby of Wampum, Pa., and fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral was held Monday Jan 28 at one thirty o'clock at the M.E church in Rutland, services conducted by Rev. J.J. Share of Humboldt and assisted by Rev. Floyd W. Dick of Rutland. Burial was made in Union cemetery.
