Job, Jr., (called Capt.) b. Kingston, Washington County, Rhode Island, 1701; d. there 1777. He 1st married Alice Weightman, dau. John and Jane (Beltly) Weightman. She was born Oct. 16, 1702. He married the second time to Elizabeth Ann Spencer, dau. Wm. and wife, Elizabeth Spencer. She was born May 11, 1702. This second marriage is shown as on July 4, 1737 as compared to the private records of Mrs. Georgianna Harrington, which shows it as July 4, 1731. His first marriage was June 8, 1722.

At the time of his residence at West Greenwich, R.I. it was a town of much woods, and later of dense growth. Horseback was the only method of travel and the nearest village, East Greenwich, was 10 miles or more away. He was made a freeman of Exeter, R.I., in 1746. His will was dated Nov. 16, 1775, and probated Dec. 10, 1777. In it he made the following bequests:

Lydia Wilcox 5 shillings, she had hers.

Job's portion in 1 year.

Ebenezer to have his portion in one year.

Elsie Sunderland, same.Alice Potter, same.Audrey Eldred to have a featherbed.

Elizabeth, 5 shillings, a brass kettle, and a silver cup.

Mercy Rathbone, an iron kettle and silver cup.

Wm., and Job, sons of Henry, a new Bible.Henry, a set of sliver coat buttons and coat.

Christopher, and Henry, all my iron and outdoor movebles.

Wife, Elizabeth, Resiuary and Executrix.

Witnesses: Elizabeth Hall, Jr., Bononi Hall and Elizabeth Hall.He was president of the town council for several years.

He is my 7th great grandfather. I know he served in French & Indian War but understand he also provided service in American Revolution - just do not know what kind of service - can anyone help? I want to submit his name to S.A.R. to honor him.

I descend through his daughter, Lydia who married Abraham Wilcox, who I am also attempting to get proof of Rev War service.
