Married Sarah Swearington Apr 1760. They had a son Anthony Turner. Married Mary McWilliams in 1775. They had the following children: Lydia, Mary, Susanna Jane, Rachel, Isobel, Simeon, Ehud, Rebecca and Anthony.

Thomas Turner II reportedly owned a large farm in Berkeley County Virgina in 1797. Thomas Turner appears to have first volunteered in Captain William Morgan's Company in 1776-7 (per "Historic Shepherdstown" page 354). DAR records (for Ancestor A117280) show Captain Thomas Turner served under Col George Weedon, 3rd Regt, Virginia and also as a Pvt under Capt G.B. Wallace. NSSAR Patriot Grave search records agree with "History of Spring Hill Farm" research report compiled by the late Don Wood, noted researcher and curator of Belle Boyd House.
