Livermore – Ruphelle Lambert Turcotte, 86, a resident of Gibbs Mill Road, Livermore, died peacefully Saturday, January 19th at her home surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was born April 2, 1926 in West Farmington, the oldest of six children of Harry G. Lambert and Ruth E. (Staples) Lambert. She was a 1944 graduate of Farmington High School. Following high school, Ruphelle attended home interior school in New York City, New York.
On November 2, 1946 she married her husband of 57 years, Eugene Turcotte, he passed away April 17, 2004. She was previously married to Howard S. Jackson for 2 years.
She worked at Diamond Match Factory in East Peru, the Box Factory in Farmington and packed apples for Oscar Turner in Brettuns (Livermore). She and Eugene, grew, harvested and sold raspberries for over 30 years, and enjoyed delivering them throughout the state. Ruphelle later devoted her life to her family and being active in the community. She was a member of the North Livermore Baptist Church, volunteered in the Livermore Elementary School cafeteria and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Frank L. Mitchell V.F.W. Post #3335 in Jay. When Ruphelle was younger, she played the violin and also delivered the Sun Journal Newspapers. She absolutely loved playing cribbage, enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, canning, reading, music, dancing, she even took a belly dancing class in the 80's, going to the V.F.W. on Friday nights for supper and entertainment, flower gardening, watching the birds, listening to the wind blow, traveling, going for rides, eating out, visits, jokes, laughter, storytelling, interior design, television shows, especially "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy", dressing to the 9's, and the wind in her hair. Gatherings at her home or anywhere for that matter, she had immense pride in her home, but most of all in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons, Howard D. Jackson and his wife Leita of New Vineyard; and Tim Turcotte and his wife Brenda of Livermore; her daughter, Alta Turcotte Martin and her husband Orrin of Jay; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jane Bruneau of Madison.
She was predeceased by her son, Leroy "Skeet" Turcotte, her companion, Paul Hooper, her daughter, Rebecca Turcotte, her brothers, Elvin, Eugene and Arthur Lambert and her sister, Estelle Collins. (Finley Funeral Home)
