Lifelong Harbor resident, Daniel Lane Davenport, passed away on June 2, 2011. He was born in Aberdeen to Martha and Buster Davenport, Sr. on November 15, 1946. He was raised in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam and served on the USS Watts. He was also in the Naval Reserve. On November 4, 1967, he and Linda were married at the Aberdeen Methodist Church. She preceded him in death. Daniel worked for Puget Sound Log Scaling and Grading Bureau. He had also been a School Bus Driver for the Aberdeen School District.

He was a member of the American Legion, Aberdeen VFW and the Prospectors Association. He loved to gold pan, pick wild blackberries, dig clams and go hunting. Spending time with his Grandchildren was a priority. Surviving Daniel are his daughter, Shawna Queen of Aberdeen; sons, Daniel of Cheney and Mark of Menlo; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; siblings, Buster Davenport, Jr. of Copperas Cove, Texas, Sue Graham of Aberdeen and Gary Davenport of Salt Lake City, Utah.

In addition to his wife, Daniel was also preceded in death by his, parents; siblings, Diane Dragoo, Martha Jean Brooks, David and Timothy Davenport.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 11th, at the Satsop Cemetery. A Memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Harbor City Church, 1700 Cherry St., Aberdeen.
