He was a member of the German Reformed Church, and a prominent mover, and good supporter in the erection of the stone church, a short distance east of which he lived in Harbaugh Valley, and now bears the name of Jacob's Church." For many years an annual Harbaugh Reunion ws held at the church. He married Mary Magdelena Mong ; they had 10 children. (Per Harbaugh History).

(3.) Jonathan Harbaugh, married Mary Sheets.
(4.) Benjamin Harbaugh, married Sarah Eyler.
(5.) Solomon Harbaugh, married Savilla Doffler.
(6.) Elizabeth Harbaugh, married Jacob Working Sr.
(7.) David Harbaugh, married Catharine Doffler.
(8.) Nancy Harbaugh, married Jacob Shover.
(9.) Catharine Harbaugh; married George Miller.
(10.) Malitda Harbaugh, married Hiram Boyd.
