Willie Mae McKinney, 75, of Russellville, Ala., died Feb. 11, 2003. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Spry Chapel of Russellville. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in Burnout Cemetery. She was a native of Franklin County, Ala., and resident of Russellville, Ala. She is survived by her son, John H. "Buzz" McKinney and wife, Emily, Russellville; sisters, Jewel Peters, Guntersville, Ala., Mabel Carpenter, Tuscumbia, Martha Jean Williams, Florence; brother, Earnie Elliott, Vina; grandchildren, Jonathan C. McKinney and wife, Kristy, Florence, and Laura A. McKinney, Russellville. She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Elliott and Nora Massey Elliott; brothers, Carl A. Elliott Sr., Hoyt Elliott, Gober Elliott and Earnest Elliott. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Russellville. She was retired from the Welfare Department, served a tenure at Franklin County school systems, and was a lifelong Democrat. Special thanks to caregivers, Sarah, Billy and Crissy.
