Services for Mitchell F. Flatt, 69, of Granville, who died Saturday at Jackson County Hospital in Gainesboro, were held at 1 pm Monday at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Gainesboro, with burial in Granville Cemetery in Jackson County. The Rev. Alvin Hitchcock and Leamon Flatt officiated.
His parents were the late Henry Franklin and Delia Birdwell Flatt.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, the late Pamela Montgomery, who died Dec. 25, 1984. and a brother, the late Tom Flatt, who died June 18, 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty Cobb Flatt of Granville; two daughters, Mrs. Sandra Stout of Fayetteville, Mrs. Frankie Wilson of Gainesboro; two brothers, Benton Flatt of Union Hill community, J.D. Flatt of Gainesboro; nine sisters, Mrs. Edna Roberts, Mrs. Mary Lena Dudney, both of Gainesboro, Mrs. Clena Chaffin, Mrs. Lillie Birdwell, Mrs. Rebecca Selestow, Mrs. Jessie M. Chaffin, all of Cookeville, Mrs. Bertha Dorris of Cross Plains, Mrs. Eunice Lozon, Mrs. Marie Hershburger, both of Detroit, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.
A member of the Liberty Church of Christ and a US Army veteran of World War II, he was a former livestock dealer and member of the Jackson County Court, a former chairman of the Election Commission of Jackson County and a retired farmer.
