Thomas Gavigan died at his home in Argyle on Tuesday morning March 23, after a lingering illness caused by the Cirrhosis of the liver. The deceased was born in Argyle April 12, 1868, and he was united in marriage, April 27, 1892 to Mrs. Anna Brew, of Blanchardville. This union was blessed by two little girls Katie and Josie.
Besides his beloved wife and children who grieve over his early departure from life, are his aged mother, his dear sister, Mrs. John Monaghan, and his kind brothers, John, James, Edward, Michael and William.
The funeral was held at St. Joseph's church at 10:30 on Thursday morning. High Requiem Mass was sung by Father McNulty, who also preached a short sermon on the necessity of Faith.
The remains were interred in Calvary Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
